Excel Pivot tables Summary from multiple sheets -


i have excel 2012 installed. have excel has 2 sheets. excel summary of errors in each project till date.

onesheet overall view of projects. sheet has project_id,project_name,total_errors

project_id||project_name||error    3467   || project  ||   5    7890   || project b  ||   3 

the second sheet has project_id,project_name , location of each error.

project_id||project_name||error   3467    || project  ||com.testsample.projecta.service.controller   3467    || project  ||com.testsample.projecta.domains.user   3467    || project  ||com.testsample.projecta.domains.product   3467    || project  ||com.testsample.projecta.domains.test   3467    || project  ||com.testsample.projecta.domains.test2   7890    || project b  ||com.testsample.projectb.domains.product   7890    || project b  ||com.testsample.projectb.domains.users   7890    || project b  ||com.testsample.projectb.domains.details 

now have been given task of making pivot table such when double click on "error" in first sheet should the list of error second sheet. result can in sheet or same sheet. please let me know how can go ahead this? thanks.

  • on 3rd sheet go insert, pivot table.
  • select range of values on sheet 2
  • setup pivot table in image. (by default pivot table have double click drill in)
  • image on bottom show results when double click pivot count of error value sheet 4 generated double click enter image description here
