mod rewrite - Apache mod_rewrite logging -


i can't mod_rewrite log it's doing. can imagine makes debugging mod_rewrite... challenging. i've followed "instructions" @ http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_rewrite.html (i'm running 2.2.22 on mac), except they're missing critical details like... of config files put configuration in, , in level of xml elements.

rewritelog "/tmp/rewrite.log" rewriteloglevel 8

where put these directives logging mod_rewrite doing? /tmp/rewrite.log created, apache has clue want, logs nothing @ file.
