html5 - Is Bootstrap 3 RC 1 ready for production? -


i'm beginning huge project today , had chosen zurb's foundation because of (very) mobile first strategy. when started shopping around months ago, bootstrap 3 wasn't ready. checked today (july 30th) , have rc1 available.

should use instead of zurb's foundation? why should use or not use release candidate? , difference between twitter's bootstrap , zurb's foundation?

as name tells release candidate never ready production. release of bootstrap 3 seems planned on august 19th 2013 (see: http://blog.getbootstrap.com/). mobile first strategy no argument choose cause tb3 has now.

make list of differences between both frameworks , compare these wishes , capabilities.

zurb's foundation / twitter's bootstrap 3

mit open source license / apache 2.0 license

sass (scss) / less

foundation-icons / glyphicons

javascript components / javascript plugins

etc.

ps hi @draconar can't choose you, when should start project tb3rc1. cause rc don't expect major changes final release. mentioned tb has big helpful community don't expect hit dead end ever. when don't want take risk should prefer zf above twitter's bootstrap 2. twitter's bootstrap 3 not backward compatible twitter's bootstrap 2 migration hurts you. there 1 moment need new feature tb2 not have or support in future. have tell don't know zf well, can't tell community or support. advice read too: use zurb foundation 4 / twitter bootstrap 3 non mobile first projects
