security - Is the clipboard shared between desktops under Windows? -


msdn says:

a window station contains clipboard, atom table, , 1 or more desktop objects.

according above, both of winlogon desktop , current desktop belong winsta0; should share same clipboard of winsta0.

however, if copy piece of text in current desktop, "abcd", , press ctrl + alt + del switch winlogon desktop, try paste text password box; not succeed!

why?

how trying paste, ctrl+v? i'm guessing winlogon doesn't support copy/paste. can confirm trying copy/paste part of username (in change password screen)
