java - is it possible to force a(n embedded) JVM to only execute certain digitally signed apps? -

a bit of noob-who-tries-to-get-a-glimpse-of-something-without-making-homeworks-first question...

suppose i'd include jvm on closed source o.s./hardware able provide extended functionalities customers addon java applets, , i'd want available source develop , sell addon apps... feaseable implement such mechanism forcing embedded jvm allow execution of apps signed digital sign?

in other words i'd know if easy implement, proven work, accepted path or plain bs (for reasons free not tell!) :)

it sounds you're wanting class signing. startup code application can install securitymanager ensure classes signed keys matching particular criteria can loaded.
